Synapps is a web-application built by IMDC in which different data sources may be visualized in an organized manner: all kind of vector layers, raster layers with e.g. model output, the location of measurement networks and their time series data etc. The platform is under continuous development and is being developed using the latest state-of-the-art open-source technologies such as Python, Django, Django REST framework, Geoserver, and Vue.js.
Data is often complex and hard to grasp at first sight. Therefore, visualizing your data in an organized manner may substantially increase the efficiency in which data can be used and analysed. To support its clients and to support different internal teams in analysing their data, IMDC has developed the Synapps platform. Synapps is an advanced web-application allowing you to visualize different kind of data sources in an organized manner. Pluggable modules enable advanced functionality such as Multi-Criteria Analysis and its visualisation, visualisation of forecasting models, sensor data, or a Cable Burrial Analysis. The platform allows to visualize both raster and vector data, but also allows to visualize the results from the pluggable modules such as time series data or plume predictions alongside one another. Most layers in Synapps are interactive meaning that one can click on several elements in the platform to display more detailed information. In addition, Synapps applications may be customized based on the needs of the client. Synapps is under continuous development and is being developed using the latest state-of-the-art open-source technologies such as Python, Django, Django REST framework, Geoserver, and Vue.js. The platform is currently being used both internally and externally by different clients. Use cases include – but are not limited to – the visualisation of complex plans for offshore wind parks, sensor networks, sediment dynamics of the Scheldt, plans for sub-sea cables, and wind dynamics along cycling tracks.
