IMDC is looking to expand its team with a Senior Engineer and Project Manager for Hydraulic Design engineering and Geotechnical studies that matches the following profile.
IMDC is active for more than 35 years in a wide range of domains, including dredging technology, coastal engineering, ports and offshore structures, offshore energy, integrated water management, waterways and inland navigation, hydraulic design, environmental studies and in situ measurement techniques. IMDC has developed a strong knowledge base in computational physics, data-analysis, design and hydro-informatics.

As an engineer, you design a wide range of different offshore and coastal rock structures, including breakwaters, groynes, scour protection (e.g. around foundations of offshore wind turbines and in front of quay walls), coastal defence structures and bed and bank protection
You manage the interactions with other disciplines that are relevant for coastal and offshore design projects (e.g. wave modelling, etc.)
You work both independently and as part of a team
You will show initiative, independence a nd confidence when making engineering decisions
You guide and supervise the technical work of junior colleagues
You are able to report in a clear but concise way, in different styles and for different audiences, ranging from factual to scientific, from layman to specialist
As a project manager, you understand the needs of a client and translate them into adequate and innovative solutions
You manage your project from the commercial offer stage up to project delivery and closing stage, including follow up of contracts, budgets, planning and milestones,...
You organize, lead and motivate your project team in hydraulic design and geotechnical projects
You assure quality by controlling and executing technical aspects of your projects
You have a university degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent , preferably with a major in hydraulic design
You have 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in marine/coastal projects, ideally having worked in design, supervision and site management
You have demonstrated project and people management skills in multi-disciplinary teams . At the same time, you enjoy working as an expert, providing technical advice in your area of expertise to junior colleagues
You are willing to work on national and also international projects in abroad for short or long periods (as an expat)
You have commercial awaren ess and are engaged with clients and finding new project prospects
You are fluent in English (both in writing and verbally) and Spanish, French or Dutch is an advantage
