Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Marine Engineer to join our Ports and Marine Infrastructure team in the management, technical execution and quality assurance of our growing project portfolio. IMDC offers a range of services for ports and marine terminals, from the review and development of existing infrastructure to site selection and evaluation of options for new facilities up to tendering, supervision and commissioning. We help our clients to plan future port developments, optimise the design of port infrastructure and obtain the necessary licences and consents. Your role will involve all aspects of marine engineering associated with ports, marine facilities, site selection, port layout, navigation, mooring and berthing, etc. from feasibility stage until procurement, supervision and commissioning.

Your profile

  • A degree in coastal, marine or civil engineering. 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in port layout, access channels, navigation, intake and outfall structures, and downtime assessments. 
  • Specialist skills in coastal and/or marine design. 
  • Skills in port engineering, mooring and navigational aspects.
  • Knowledge of international guidelines.
  • Capable of working independently and taking initiative but also able to work as part of a team.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English with excellent report writing skills. Dutch, French, Spanish or Portuguese is an advantage.
  • You have demonstrated project management skills in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • You enjoy working as an expert, providing technical advice in your area of expertise to junior colleagues. 
  • You have commercial awareness and are engaged with clients and finding new project prospects.
