IMDC is an international consultancy providing advice upon the development and management of water related projects in the offshore, marine, coastal and river environment. IMDC provides services to the renewable (offshore wind, wave and tidal energy), power generation (nuclear, gas), transmission infrastructure, navigation, integrated water risk management, ports & harbours, environmental and public sector markets (flood risks, coastal protection).

Job Description

IMDC is looking for an Engineer Advisor to join the Blue Energy product of IMDC with experience in assessment of offshore areas, writing technical specifications, terms of references, tender assistance, offshore installations, as well as experience in concept and front-end engineering design (FEED) studies for offshore energy. We are looking for a dynamic person with an innovative mindset, who’s able to work as part of a project team, but can also work independently and is not afraid of taking initiative. Experience in project management is a plus. You will be engaged in projects both in a national and international context. You will be able to apply your relevant technical knowledge in a team of professionals. By linking your technical knowledge to practical advice, you provide our clients with the best technical and economical solutions.

Your profile

  • You have at least 5 to 8 years of experience in blue energy by means of desktop studies, FEED studies, metocean studies, static and dynamic mooring analysis, tenders on desktop studies, field studies and EPC contractors ; 
  • Practical experience with offshore energy projects (wind, submarine cables, floating PV, wave energy) and marine surveys; 
  • Good understanding of meteocean conditions;
  • Knowledge in hydrodynamics of offshore structures;
  • Familiair with manoeuvring studies;
  • You have an analytic mindset;
  • You want to use your skills to contribute to development of renewable energy and multiuse of offshore space; 
  • Experience of modelling in OrcaFlex and ANSYS AQWA and programming experience is considered an asset;
  • Computer skills. Knowledge in Matlab or Python is a plus; 
  • You show responsibility to meet planning, budget and technical requirements. You are pro-active, a team-player and you take initiative to report and ask for feedback;
  • Missions abroad are a welcome interruption of your daily office work. You are willing to work on international projects for short periods.; 
  • You have excellent communication and reporting skills in English and are fluent in Dutch and/or French (both in writing and verbally).
