Intakes, outfalls and land-falls

Discharges and outlet structures may give rise to a number of adverse effects on the coastal environment if they are constructed of inappropriate materials and/or are poorly sited. Before locating an intake or discharge in the coastal marine area particular solutions are worked out to avoid or minimise any adverse effect on the natural character, amenity or public access values of the coastal environment. Hereto IMDC uses state-of the art modeling techniques.
